A1 & A2 Assessor Awards
This award replaces the old D32/D33 Assessor Award and supports candidates undertaking their NVQ award. In order to gain this award you must be able to identify two NVQ candidates to work with. If your establishment has NVQ candidates whoever is the provider needs to be contacted to ensure that you can work with them to gain evidence for your A1 award. You must ask them because you will need their assessor and internal verifier to countersign the evidence.
The A1 Assessor Award is achieved by your evidencing competence and demonstrating an understanding of working with candidates to achieve unit accreditation.
Structure
The Structure of this award consists of one unit containing the following mandatory elements:
A1
- A1.1 Develop plans for assessing competence
- A1.2 Judge evidence against criteria to make assessment decisions
- A1.3 Provide feedback and support to candidates on assessment decisions
- A1.4 Contribute to the internal quality assurance process
Who is this award aimed at
Any staff member who is occupationally competent, i.e. holds an award in their area of work/expertise and wishes to support an NVQ candidate who is at a lower grade than themselves. It is helpful if the Assessor has already undertaken an NVQ award for their job role as it gives them an understanding of their candidate's award, although this is not a requirement.
Relationships to other awards
Progression into this award may be through a Coaching award. The next step after the Assessor qualification is the V1 Internal Verifier Award. |
